So as we fill out the full list of Key Principles, we are coming to more emphasis on disciplines and restrictions, which haven’t been covered much up to now.
Sexual discipline is one of our 3-D purposes for masturbation and the number one expectation for sexual discipline is that masturbation gives Christian singles a physically healthy and spiritually fulfilling outlet for their sexual drives and desires. The most important facet of creating this outlet is firstly that times when it is exercised are completely private, and secondly that these drives and desires can be coralled into it at all times. In day to day activities outside of those private times, then Christians singles are expected to uphold the highest level of personal respect of other people with whom they may work or otherwise engage with, and push back or repudiate common pressures and demands that secular society brings against them in relation to sexuality in general. The expectations for married Christians are similar except for their primary sexual outlet being through sexual intimacy in marriage, and secondly through masturbation as agreed between them.
It is also necessary to have specific principles for Christians to uphold in relation to sexuality whether in singleness or marriage. We believe after prayerful consideration that practices such as the following are considered spiritually offensive to God and therefore cannot be exercised by committed Christians:
- Genital mutilation or alteration (where entered into voluntarily) excepting male circumcision.
- Genital piercings of any type.
- Permanent removal of pubic hair.
- Physical engagement with any excretory orifice or function.
- Sexual idolatry of any form.
- Sexual addiction of any form.
We also believe that for the avoidance of sexual addiction, it is necessary to place a practical limit on the number of orgasms that individual Christian believers can partake of each day. The following are recommended:
- Four orgasms per day for pre-adolescent children who masturbate.
- Four orgasms per day for singles who have recently entered adolescence.
- Twelve orgasms per day for all other adult / adolescent situations.
- Three orgasms per session in the case of having multiple orgasms in the same session. However, married couples can exceed this per-session limit once a week if they desire.
Sexual idolatry and addiction are particular issues that require specific principles to avoid. The issue with the use of visual imagery is covered in the specific Principle for that topic and readers should refer to that particular principle for greater discussion around the use of visual imagery in various contexts. Pornographic addiction is a serious problem in the Christian community worldwide and affects both males and females. Although many resources exist for male recovery from pornography, few are yet available for women. Our case is that pornography addiction can be very simply and readily remedied by bringing the use of masturbation within healthy limits whilst recognising its value as a sexual outlet for Christians.
Because there is a natural tendency especially for males to enter into sexual idolatry through the exercise of physical sexual desires and seeking spiritual fulfilment through those, the orgasmic limit exists for those who have recently entered adolescence and therefore begun to use masturbation to respond to physical sexual desires, until such time as they have sufficiently mastered sexual discipline through the understanding and application of the Key Principles, and have therefore demonstrated the ability and capacity for healthy Christian sexuality in their personal lives.
